Weekend Snapshot: Lake Shrine

Located in the Pacific Palisades, about half a mile inland from the Pacific Coast Highway, Lake Shrine is a tranquil oasis where you can stroll and meditate.

The boat house and an old Dutch Windmill chapel are just some of the beauty on this 10 acre property, which used to be a movie set.

The real name for Lake Shrine is Self Realization Fellowship. On this property, there is a koi pond, swans, ducks, turtles and a lot of flowers. It is a quite place and even if you read a book, nobody would bother you.
Founded by an eastern yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda, Lake Shrine opened to the public in August, 1950.
