Practice Shots: Panoramic View
Eastern Sierra Mountains and Mt. Whitney
This mountain view was taken on our first day of travel and a stop-over in Lone Pine, CA. I was in awe of the clouds and view, so my camera was just clicking away. Little did I know, that I was lucky to get some shots that I could use to photomerge. I may be a late bloomer on technical stuff, but I can learn.
Zee was practicing on her panoramic view and I was so intrigued. Guess what, she taught me and I just learned it in 15 minutes.
So, if I can do it, you can do it, too.

I never tried a digital panarama shot .. I did once accidentally shoot two shots w’my old 35mmSLR that once they were developed I could put side by side to form a panarama and I did … its in a little rectangular frame here by my desk .. now I am wanting to try this digitally .. Thanks for the inspiration .. see you arent the only one new to this game!

Hi Daryl, I find it very easy to be in this digital world, because my daughter is just around to teach me the ABC’s. I still have my Nikon N60 (those film days) but don’t want to use it anymore besides not being cost effective. I did not have any intentions of doing a panoramic shots, but it just so happen that when I was editing my photos, some of them that I randomly took, could be stitched together. From now on, I better pay attention. Thanks for the visit, and your friends have beautiful photo blogs.

Hi Ebie,
This is just a beautiful shot – I may have to try this myself. I have 2 cameras that I use – one a tiny Sony Cybershot that I can carry biking or in a pack and a heavier Sony SLR. I’ve had the SLR for over 2 years and I’m still learning to use it! Do you typically use Photoshop?

Hi Barb, I am just learning to use PS, I think we have CS2. I started PS only a month ago, but every time I mess up, my daughter Zee is here to teach me. She has tutorials in her blog. And poor me, I don’t like to read how-to’s and instructions, I want hands on. On my home page, there are a few badges, click ZDarkRoom that will lead you to her photo blog, and she just posted a lot of photos and some panoramic views of Mono Lake. Zpinkboudoir is her scrap page, she has some tutorials. And she has 2 other blogs. I don’t know what she wants to be, an RN or Photographer (giggles).

You’re really good at this Ebie! It doesn;t even look like a practice shot. You’re doing a great job.
