Weekend Snapshot: Remembering MJ in Hollywood

Last week, all TV stations and the print media were all about the death of a music icon, a legend. A lot of fans, tourists and even locals flocked to his star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I am no exception. Nothing beats living close to a place where you see the ever famous Hollywood/Highland Boulevard, in Hollywood, CA, just one train stop from Universal City.
If you walk farther a few steps, you will find the Kodak Theatre and the Grauman Chinese Theatre, on 6925 Hollywood Boulevard. Among the theater’s most distinctive features are the concrete blocks set in the forecourt, which bear the signatures, footprints, and handprints of popular motion picture personalities from the 1920s to the present day.

The Kodak Theatre
This is MJ’s Star on the Walk of Fame but unfortunately, there were so much flowers and offerings that covered it so it is not visible. A barricade has been set up, too.
There will be a tribute to MJ on Tuesday at the Staples Center. Only 11,000 tickets will be available to the memorial.
And another 6,500 will get passes to the “satellite event” in the Nokia Theatre across the street– like watching it on TV. This photo is from my archives taken last December, 2008.
I work in the Downtown Los Angeles Area, and 4 blocks away from the Staples Center, so traffic will be bad, just like the Lakers’ Victory Parade last month.

Nice photo tribute for MJ. May he rests in peace. I wish he is still alive to witness how the people mourned his death and how they missed him and loved him by7 leaving flowers and memoriams at the hall of fame.
My SM is now up, Mommy!

Thanks for sharing your tribute to MJ. I was at Baja Fresh with my hubby when I heard one of the customers saying something about MJ dying and I could not believe it! Had to turn on the radio as soon as we got back to the car. May his soul find peace.
