It rained last night, it rained this morning, and I am going to my office mate’s daughter’s birthday party. Well, nothing stopped the kids and even the grown ups from enjoying indoors! For the piñata part, it was done in the basement of the house.
Ssssh, I saw one handsome actor of the big screen at the party, with his young son, who is a classmate of the 5-year old birthday princess!

I had my face painted too! But the rain had washed out most of it! I was a child for a few hours.

Order: Caryophyllales
Family: Nepenthaceae
Genus: Nepenthes

Nepenthes, popularly known as tropical pitcher plants, are a genus of carnivorous plants that grow in wet habitats in the tropical areas of the world, especially in the steamy jungles of Southeast Asia. It is also called as monkey cups because monkeys have been seen drinking rainwater from these plants.

Nepenthes can climb into or above surrounding vegetation and can be grown in a greenhouse, sun room, partly sunny window, or under lights.

These plants are also known for their flat leaves tipped with tendrils that form a colorful pitcher at the end. The tendrils will wrap around a tree branch to prevent the pitcher from spilling it’s fluids. They can produce pitchers that are large enough to hold fluid.
