Mosaic Canyon
Summer is almost here and the weather has been changing. I have been doing a lot of outdoor activities and hiking. Since I did not have much time to do a post, I have this draft post sitting for a while, and thought that this is a good entry for today’s meme.
Mosaic Canyon
Death Valley, CA
Mosaic Canyon is a canyon in the north western mountain face of the valley which is named after a stream-derived breccia sediment with angular blocks of dolomite in a pebbly matrix. The entrance to Mosaic Canyon appears deceptively ordinary, but just a 1/4 mile (400m) walk up the canyon narrows dramatically to a deep slot cut into the face of Tucki Mountain.
Smooth, polished marble walls enclose the trail as it follows the canyon’s sinuous curves. The canyon follows faults that formed when the rocky crust of the Death Valley region began stretching just a few million years ago. Running water scoured away at the fault-weakened rock, gradually carving Mosaic canyon.

112th Philippine Independence Day
June 12, 1898
Filipinos in the Philippines and around the World, celebrate the Philippine Independence Day, commemorating our country’s declaration of independence from Spain.
The Philippines was ceded by the Spanish government to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, and indemnify the Spanish government for expenses and assets loss.

On July 4, 1946, the United States granted independence to the Philippines in the Treaty of Manila.

From 1946 to 1961, July 4 was observed by Filipinos as their Independence Day. However, on May 17, 1962, President Diosdado Macapagal ( the father of the last Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) issued Proclamation No. 28 directing Congress to enact a statute making June 12 as Independence Day.
On August 4, 1964, Macapagal signed into law Republic Act No. 4166 designating June 12 as the country’s Independence Day.
July 4 is now observed as Philippine American Friendship Day.

Do you Blog?
Blogging is fun and educational. In the course of one year and 5 months since I started blogging, I have”met” fellow bloggers from all over the world. I also had the chance to meet some in person and talk over the phone, too.
Lately, I have been receiving a lot of spam comments, visitors who come and go just to get a glimpse of what I write. This is a photo blog and I write about our trips with Zee, a mom and daughter team who loves adventure and photography. I write and comment from my heart without prejudice.
This is my original blog and I have another blog that I took over from my daughter a few weeks ago. Both blogs have a PR 3 and PR 2 respectively.
I am taking this opportunity to thank my anonymous visitors because you have put my blog on the map.

These flowers are for you!
