Victorian Homes : Angelino Heights

Angelino Heights located near the Echo Park area, is a unique and a well preserved section of Victorian-era homes . You can also see, from the distance, the skyline of downtown Los Angeles.

More than 50 homes in the area have different architectural styles, such as Queen Anne and Eastlake Victorian Mission Revival, Crafts,am/California Bungalow, Brownstone and Streamline Modern.

I do not know which ones, but two of these homes were used as sets for some TV shows such as Charmed and Journeyman.

All photos were taken along Carroll Avenue

The 1300 block of Carroll Avenue is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1983 the entire area was declared as Los Angeles’ first historic district.

Its been a hot 3 digit temperature here in Southern California. Notwithstanding the flash flood warnings in some parts of the Inland Empire.  Strange weather we have.

Here are some images I am sharing with the light and clouds playing in great harmony.

This hot weather had given us great opportunities to take photos of the heavenly skies, watching the sun set on one side…..

and the moon waxing on the other side (before the full moon last Monday).

But with this heat, I would love to go to the beach to see the big waves swell,

or just dip your toes when the tide is low.

Sweet and short, I hope you have a great weekend!

This past Sunday, the Grove at 3rd and Fairfax in Los Angeles was crowded because it hosted a one day special featuring brief  performances from Cirque’s Las Vegas productions — “Mystère,” “O,” “CRISS ANGEL Believe,” “Viva ELVIS,” “KÀ” and “Zumanity.”

The show started at 1:00 p.m. and lasted until 4 p.m. I had a chance to see some of the performers up close.  I did not get a chance to take a lot of photos, there were more taller people in front of me.

Last year, Cirque du Soleil put on a similar free show at the Grove as part of its 25th anniversary season.

It was scorching hot and I got sun burned!
