Continuing my post from our weekend trip to San Diego (please see one post down) here are some photos of the tidepools at Cabrillo National Monument.
Although it was not a negative low tide, we still could see a few sea creatures.
You see some rose colored coralline algae and some rock reflections.
These barnacles clinging to the rocks are a little bit dry.
A close up of the shell
I see life in this seaweed
A lone seagull wading, but there were plenty of them flying around
I caught this in flight gull, flying away from me!

of course, love all the others too.
yeah, I do usually bring spare battery with me, but whenever we are in for some city walk (not really hiking), I tend to not bring backpack but just ladies bag, therefore, I forget to transfer the spare battery which usually is in my backpack! Haaay, maybe I should forget about wearing ladies bags now, with a dslr, ladies bag anyway are not comfortable as backpack, I wonder sometimes why I even use ladies bag! Hmp!

Just like Ewok you also itched me to go to the rocky beaches and look for these tide pools. Last time i saw two butterfly fishes but i can’t get a clear shot. I love most that barnacle and the seaweed here.

I love these! “Tide-pooling” was one of our favorite things to do on the Oregon Coast. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll get to do some this summer.
Your pictures are great — they really show how there are whole worlds down there in the pools.

It has been years and years since I have seen barnacles. As a child, I got way too close to a pier and really got some nasty cuts. After that I kept my distance. Their colors are so pretty. All at the shapes you captured are so interesting. That water is dreamy even at low tide. genie
