Good as New!

Our Weekend Memoirs

I am back with my weekday and weekend photo adventure. For the past month, I did not have that much inspiration of going out and taking new photos. Since I got my car back from the shop last Monday, I have been test driving it on the freeway. There was a sensor light on and a manufacturer recall, and last Friday, it was given by the dealership the clean bill of health.

A shot at 7 a.m. Saturday, checking to see how it runs long distance. Good as new, I said, I can feel it.  There is so much to be thankful, I am alive.

This is my Subaru.  Saturday was a long day for me, been to two places in one day. An all day hike, and my legs are just so tired.

I am sure you know where I went.

I roamed the grounds of the garden and what a delight to see these beautiful flowers in bloom!  Spring is almost here!

And for this post, I have integrated the Kreativ Blog Award that I received.  I am quite a private person, but maybe I can open up a little bit with these  seven things that people don’t know about me. These were given to me by:

Ms Ray of  Woman on a Journey
Jan of  January’s Scraps of Life
Marth Z of Martha’s Musings

1) My first car accident in my driving career on 12/02/09, not a bodily scratch on me, except the car. A guy ran the red light;
2) My Subaru is my first brand new car having owned two used Hondas; the first one I donated to a Jewish Foundation in 2000; and I still have my 1993 Accord coupe;
3) I had surgery: salpingo oophorectomy at age 33;
4) I have only one child, a daughter, 25 years old;
5)  Married for 27 years and a half; met hubby in law school, but I did not finish;
6) A great saver but a wise spender; not so high-tech, I have a prepaid cellphone;
7) Orphaned at age 26.

The character of most Japanese gardens owe much of their development to the influence of Zen Buddhism. It was brought from China in the 13th century and became a major influence in Japan in the next two centuries.

Japanese Garden Stepping Stones - A

The weeping willow tree is symbolic of the female persona – kind, loving, and bending with the situation. The reflection you see on the water is  the black pine.  It  represents the male persona – warlike, strong, and un-bending.  See also the detail of the black pebbles and mill stepping stones.

I would like to take this opportunity to accept this award given to me by Carolyn of Ford Family Photos, a retired  middle school Math and Science teacher.  She is an active blogger and she joins almost any meme  there is, and she can provide us with beautiful photos.  Always creative.

Award - you make my world shine - Maria Berg

This is what she has to say about me, as posted in her blog:

“Ebie lives in the Hollywood, California area and rides the commuter trains and subways of Los Angeles back and forth to work each day. I believe she carries her camera with her at all times! She finds all the well-known places as well as the hidden gems of the Los Angeles area to capture. In addition, she gives an excellent description of those places. I enjoy Ebie’s posts because we visit many of the same places and also inspire each other with those that we find on our own. I always wonder, “Where has Ebie been today?” I know it will be good!”

With humble heart, I am very appreciative of this award, and what she wrote about me,  is true, except I have to prefix North on Hollywood.   I wish someday we can meet up and go to places for photo opportunities.
