Funny Signs

Signs I saw displayed while having dinner at a restaurant in Julian, CA, famous for their apple pies.

And they are inexpensive too, I peeked at the price, $ 5.95.

There is so much to see and fill your hearts content with the scenic views  in the Eastern Sierras.  I am showing you some highlights of this trip.

Lake Mary Road

We drove up to Lake Mary Road to the top at 8000 feet elevation.  The road speed changes from 15 to 25 to 35 depending on how zigzag the road or loop is.  I have fear of heights and my feet were trembling while driving.   C’mon you brave little toaster!

Upper Twin

This strong gushing flow is the Upper Twin  and this leads to the Twin Lakes

Twin Lakes

The weatherman said slight showers and thunderstorm, and we have seen the movement of the clouds.  We stayed for at least an hour and left. When we arrived Main Street, it poured.

Day 1 of our 5-day trip to the Eastern Sierras, that includes Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake, Bodie, Bishop, Lone Pine and countless of SURPRISES.  My assistant cum daughter Zee has carefully planned the details.

Day 2 in the afternoon,  took us to Mono Lake, where you can see the “tufas” or limestone towers.  These are mineral structures created when fresh water springs bubble up and mix with alkaline waters of the lake.  It is also a haven of birds, seagulls and millions of other migrating birds.

Long Weekend Birthday Trip

The model is posing behind the tufas, the cover of Westways (AutoClub Magazine) for their June, 2009 issue that she received on Friday.   It is also her submission to Westways’ PICTURE THIS.
“Take your Westways on vacation with you and have yourself photographed with it. Send the photo to westways@aaa-calif.com, and we might run it in an upcoming issue”.

Also, the model is wearing a pajama set that she got from Walmart, 100% cotton, very wearable for the summer-like weather. Giggles!

So, did she pass the screen test?
