Sunday’s warm weather took me outdoors to the Japanese Garden, 5 miles from home. I have always enjoyed this place and I come here almost every change of season. The sky was blue with some patchy clouds.

The scientific name for waterlily is Nymphaea. It is considered by many, as the jewels of the pond. The waterlily, besides its beauty and fragrance, serves an an important agent in aiding the ecosystem of the pond.

Flowers come in a variety of colors, opening in the early morning and closing in the late afternoon. Some hardy water lily flowers change color shades over the life of the bloom. Hardy water lilies can remain in the pond all year round. The lily will die off in the winter time and produce new leaves and flowers in the spring.

The yellow day lilies were also showing off their beauties
