We visited The Ranunculus Flower Fields in Carlsbad, in San Diego, CA three weekends ago. We come here almost every year and the time was just perfect. Beautiful weather, bright and sunny skies.  We also had a chance to meet Betchai, a Filipino blogger.  It is a 100-mile drive from Los Angeles.

The flowers are called ranunculus. They bloom only in the early part of Spring. The flower fields will be closed next weekend and getting ready again for the next season.

This is my model, Zee, my grown up, not kid anymore!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

Flower Field & Condo

This photo was taken last May 8, 2009 at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, near San Diego. These are a sea of ranunculus flowers in an array of different colors.  It was also a gloomy day because of the smoke coming from the Santa Barbara fire the day before was blowing towards this direction.
This date is memorable for us because it was the day that we adopted our Twyla, an abused cat.  In  the background, across the San Diego freeway are beautiful houses.

Flower Fields & Tractors

The Flower Fields  closed on May 11 and it will reopen again next Spring. The ranunculus plants are nearing the end of their life cycle, and they are preparing to start harvesting the bulbs soon.
