Because We Care

Our dear friend Clytie had a little trip to the ER last week and she is now at home resting. She wrote about it on her “Hearty Scare” here. There are things we take for granted. I get emails from my heathcare provider to remind me of our annual check up, flu shots , etc, especially if you are in your golden age.

I saw this sign at the skilled facility where Zee had worked before. We sometimes meet up for late lunches or early dinner.

There are also different ways of showing your affection.

Trichostema lanatum is the scientific name for woolly blue curls. It is a small evergreen shrub or sub-shrub native to arid coastal chaparral regions of California and the northern parts of Baja California.

It is also multi-branched and grows up to 5 ft. tall.  The blue flowers are dense clusters, with the stem and calyces covered in woolly hairs of blue, pink, or white.

Sense of touch
Sense of smell
Sense of love!

The flowers have fuzzy spikes and grow in  abundance from  May to August. The leaves are narrow and aromatic. In some gardens that I have visited, besides visual signs, they have Braille, too.

These flowers attract hummingbirds, too.
