Autumn Colors and Reflection: Rocky Oaks Pond

In the middle of Autumn, in the middle of the day, I have never seen so much gold colors. A small pond at the Rocky Oaks Park tucked in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains in the city of Malibu.

Plants that the wildlife feeds on have given a nice shape and colors

Ripples of water at the shallow end

Water fowls like to show off their trails too!

The blue water provides a great contrast to the dry leaves.

California Buckwheat

The common one grows in most of the populated areas of Southern California. White flowers appear in late spring, gradually turn pink in summer, then rust colored in fall. The rusty flowers stay on until the next spring.
